Taking complete backup and restoring in Plesk

Taking Complete Backup in Plesk

 

1.            Log into Plesk.

2.            Click on Websites & Domains.

 

3.            Click on Backup Manager.

 

 

4.  On Backup Manager, navigate to Back Up.

 

5. Configure the following settings:

a)      Back Up Content

  •  Back Up - Check both the textboxes (Mail Configuration and content & User files and database).
  • Store In - Server Storage or Configure FTP storage settings.
  • Type - Select Full or Incremental (Back up web and mail hosting data that has changed since the last backup. Note: databases are always backed up in full).

 

 

b)      Back Up Settings

  • •Comments: This text field is provided so that you can add additional comments regarding the backup for reference.
  • •When a backup task is completed:  Select this checkbox if you wish to receive a notification once the backup is completed.
  • •Suspend the domain until the backup task is completed: This setting will redirect visitors to a custom 503 error page until the backup is completed.
  • •Use native MS SQL backup functionality if possible: You only need this setting if one of your websites has a MS SQL database.

 

6. Click OK to start Back Up.

7. After the Back Up process is finished, your Back Up will be displayed on Back Up manager page.

 

 

 

Restoring Back Up in Plesk

1.            Log into Plesk.

2.            Click on Websites & Domains.

 

3.            Click on Backup Manager.

 

 

4.            Select the existing backup you wish to restore from the list of backups in your Server Repository or Personal FTP Repository.

 

 

5.  On the Restore Page. It shows all the details about the backup (“Creation date”, “Comments”, “System notes”, “Backup size”) 

               

 

6. Select the objects within the backup that you wish to restore.

 

 

 7. Select All Objects (entire system) for entire backup restoration.
In Restoration Options-> Select the options as per the requirements and click Restore to restore from your selected backup.

 

 

7. After selecting all the above settings, click restore.
