In order to install SSL on your Domain, Follow the steps given below:
1. Purchase SSL Certificate.
2. Login to cPanel.
3. Under the Security section, click on SSL/TLS Manager.
Steps to Generate CSR (Certificate Signing Request):
Before getting an SSL certificate for your website, you need to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR). This request will include your domain name and company, as well as information specific to the server you're hosting on.
4. Click on Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.
5. Fill out all of the fields for your CSR, and then click Generate.
6. You should now see the generated CSR, you can click in the text-box and then hit Ctrl-A to select all the text, and then Ctrl-C to copy it.
7. Now you need to take this CSR text generated from the cPanel server, and when you are purchasing a SSL certificate, the Certificate Authority that you buy it from will need to be supplied with it to generate CRT File.
Steps to Generate CRT File:
1. Login to Client Area.
2. Click on Services.
3. Select the SSL.
4. Click on View Certificate Details at the bottom of the Product page.
5. Click on Configure Certificate.
6. Fill Out the Server Information.
7. The next step is to select the email which you have access to, as the Certificate Authority will send an approval email that you need to verify from the link given in the mail. Click to Continue.
8. It will be sent on your mail.
9. After Verification is done from Email sent you , Download Certificate will appear in Manage Product Page(After 5 min approx).
10. Download the CRT File.
Steps to Activate SSL on Website
1. Go to cPanel and navigate to SSL/TLS Manager.
2. Click on Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates.
3. Click Choose File to browse your local computer for the certificate file and click on Upload Certificate.
4. After uploading the certificate, we need to install our SSL to our website.
5. Select SSL/TLS in cPanel.
6. Click on Install and Manage SSL for your site.
7. If there is any SSL already installed on the domain(on that Particular Domain on which you are currently installing), please uninstall it.
8. From the Domain drop-down, select the domain you're installing your SSL certificate on, and then click Autofill by Domain.
9. Kindly check the issuer name, this should be same as the certificate authority name.
10. Now Click on Install Certificate.
You will then see confirmation that the SSL certificate was installed. You should hopefully now understand how to use the cPanel SSL/TLS Manager to either generate a CSR or get a SSL certificate installed on your website.
You can confirm that SSL is installed on your Website by visiting your website https://yourdomainname.com.
