Migrating your old WordPress site to WP Canvas

You can migrate your WordPress website to WP Canvas by three methods :

a>   By using WP Canvas Backup and Restore

b>  By using WordPress Plugin

c>   By using manual method

Let’s Start

a>   By using WP Canvas Backup and Restore:

BACKUP:

1. Login into Gen X Web Hosting Dashboard  and click on services.

2. Now click on wp canvas service.

3. Now you will see manage product for your wpcanvas service , scroll down below and click on Login to Plesk Control Panel

4. Now you are in plesk dashboard click on WordPress

5. Click on Backup/Restore

6. Now Click on Backup Button to create backup of WordPress website

7. Change setting for your backup as you want to take that backup and click OK

8. Your Website BackUp is in progress

9. Your Backup is completed.

RESTORE:

1. To Restore your website you can upload your backup just by clicking over upload button or you can just click on uploaded back up to restore.

2. Change setting for your restore and click restore

3. Your Website Restoration is in progress

4. Your Website Restoration is completed.

b>  By using WordPress Plugin :

For this we are going to use  All-in-One WP Migration WordPress Plugin

Now follow the following steps:

It is measuredly divided into section BackUp and Restore.

Backup:

1. Login into Wordpress website dashboard which you want to migrate to WP Canvas.

2. Go to the Plugins and click on Add New Plugin

3. Search for All-in-One WP Migration Plugin in search box than install and activate it.

4. After activation click on All-in-One WP Migration

5. Now chose a method where you want to export . I have selected file method.

6. Now your backup is in progress.

7. Now Download your Backup it will be something like <filename>.wpress

8. Now Backup Section is completed Succeccfully.

Restore:

1. Login into Gen X Web Hosting Dashboard  and click on services.

2. Now click on wp canvas service.

3. Now you will see manage product for your wpcanvas service , scroll down below and click on Login to Plesk Control Panel

4. Now you are in plesk dashboard click on WordPress

5. Click on WordPress Login

6. Now you WordPress Dashboard

7. Go to the Plugins and click on Add New Plugin

8. Search for All-in-One WP Migration Plugin in search box than install and activate it.

9. After activation click on All-in-One WP Migration >> import

10. Now Import file which you have already taken as backup

11. Now Import is in progress

12. Your Site is Successfully migrated from another platform to WP Canvas.

c>   By using manual method :

BACKUP

1. Login in to FTP Account and traverse to the root directory.

2. Download all files in zip format.

3. Login in to phpmyadmin and Click on Export

4. Click on “GO” Your Database is exported you can easily download it.

5. Your Backup is Completed.

Restore

1. Login into Gen X Web Hosting Dashboard  and click on services.

2. Now click on wp canvas service.

3. Now you will see manage product for your wpcanvas service , scroll down below and click on Login to Plesk Control Panel

4. Click on httpdocs to acces file directory

5. Click on upload to upload your local storage of WordPress files in zip format.

6. Your zip file is uploading.

7. After successful upload Click on extract files and replace it with existing files.

8. Click on Database

9. Select your subscription

10. Login into phpmyadmin

11.  Click on Import

12. Browse your sql file and click on “GO”.
